For me nothing beats a quiet Family Christmas I love to see our tree surrounded with gifts for a very excited Daughter and an even more excited dog. No joke he is like a toddler and loves the Christmas period as it does normally meantime with the family altogether. When I placed the gifts out I always mix them up yet our baby bear always knows which ones are his, he absolutely loves opening gifts and will run around the Living room so excited to see what Santa Paws got him.
Shopping for Becks is always relatively easy as when she sees things that she likes throughout the year I ask her to send me a link to it and then I can just pick out a few things, it does normally mean she gets everything she wants. This year she wanted to get jewellery and a few bits from her favourite shop The Disney Shop.
We have a few traditions in our family which does bump up the cost of Christmas but it’s fun so why not. Our family traditions are matching Christmas Pyjamas for me and Tink, my Hubby won’t participate no matter what. I also have to buy Tink a Disney shop Snowglobe with the year on it and we alternate buying the Holiday Mickey or Minnie which she has been collecting for years, her room is and always has been a shrine to that Mouse.
Each year we save using Park Savings club so that I have a fair amount saved up to take the pressure off the holidays, I can’t do that dread you have when the January credit card arrives. We really did spoil each other this year which we don’t do often. We did add to Tinks Mouse-ear collection which included the anniversary ears which she was thrilled with, add that to lots of comfy leisurewear/PJs/jewellery and she was absolutely made up. The dog got some new Kong toys, cuddle bears as well as treats and he was running around not sure which to play with first.
All I wanted was to have some time with Tink and I was so fortunate to get to see West Side Story with her before Christmas but then after a few bad days, I was confined to bed unable to do much of anything. I wanted to go to HomeSense and Hobbycraft with Tink to see the sales that they have on, but as she will have to head back up to Uni again soon all those plans are cancelled indefinitely. As my Hubby works in retail he works silly hours on the run-up to the holidays so we looked forward to his four days off and he planned to treat Becks to lunch out followed by The new Superman movie at the Cinema. They were so excited as Tink is away at University so he doesn’t get to spend much time with her. Of course, a positive Covid test for my Hubby put an end to that.
Straight away we made changes as with suffering from Myalgic Encephalomyelitis and only having one vaccination me avoiding this was very important. My Hubby has been vaccinated twice as has Our daughter thankfully, so while my Hubby has been very bad I’m hoping his symptoms haven’t been too tough on him. I haven’t seen too much of him as he moved into our tv room to avoid spreading it onto me. It didn’t work as today I too tested positive.
I knew within myself that my pain levels had increased and while my tests over the past few days came up negative I did have a sore throat as well as some really awful headaches. Seeing that line come up positive made my stomach drop as this really scares me, see if you already suffer extreme amounts of pain each day the thought of more terrifies me. Unfortunately, I am also severely overweight which is supposed to be very bad, add to that my ME, Endometriosis pain, pain in both hands and I am scared.
Over the next few days, I am going to try my best to share my symptoms in the hope that my situation will help others like me. So far 2022 isn’t great but I am hopeful it will get better as I still have so much to achieve in my personal life and the ME/Endometriosis/De Quervains Syndrome/Overweight communities.
So welcome to 2022 and I hope you are having a much better start.
