De Quervains Syndrome
Last year ,I had an appointment at MCAS Aintree Hospital . Every time I go here I get bad news . Last appointment I was told about the loss of muscle and eventually movement because of being bedridden with ME .
I have suffered with my hands now for a while . I drop everything. Things like doing buttons or picking something up is impossible. I even drink out of a kids cup , yes the ones with a lid .
What is it ?
De Quervain’s syndrome is a painful condition that affects tendons where they run through a tunnel on the thumb side of the wrist.
Treatment
Not nice , He had to inject a steroid in between the tendons to hopefully give me a greater range of motion without pain .
Yes I had to have it in both hands !
Plus I have some funky new hand accessories!
Prognosis
Hopefully after 7 – 10 days I should start to feel a real difference. If in 6 weeks I am still getting the pain then he will have to give me another injection.
2 days since I had the injections and as you might expect I am still in a lot of pain .
I have attached more information about De Quervains .
If you experience any of the symptoms of De Quervains then don’t leave it , it won’t get better on its own .
Goodnight and Godbless anyone reading this x
