CoronaVirus

Today I want to talk about Coronavirus from the position of someone who has severe health issues.

With the weather getting a little colder I already have the Christmas Star Wars Onesie on because I am freezing. I have asked my Hubby to fill up my Yu Yu bottle a silly amount of times and even invested in a 18 tog duvet for our bed. Extreme for some maybe but shivering causes me severe pain and lots of tears.

I understand this is not something any of us want to be thinking of again and some reading this will be thinking it’s all a load of BS but people like me don’t have that luxury, I can’t let my Hubby sit in a crowded train for 2 hours a day without him taking all precautions as bringing C into our home on top of my current health would be negligent.

Did you know that you can order Rapid Flow Tests from GOV?

As this next part is very important I have copied it from https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/covid-19/treatments-for-covid-19/

You may be at highest risk of getting seriously ill from COVID-19 if you have:

  • Down’s syndrome, or another chromosomal condition that affects your immune system
  • certain types of cancer, or had treatment for certain types of cancer
  • sickle cell disease
  • certain conditions affecting your blood
  • chronic kidney disease (CKD) stage 4 or 5
  • severe liver disease
  • had an organ transplant
  • certain autoimmune or inflammatory conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis or inflammatory bowel disease
  • HIV or AIDS and have a weakened immune system
  • a condition affecting your immune system
  • a condition affecting the brain or nervous system, such as multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, motor neurone disease, myasthenia gravis, Huntington’s disease, Parkinson’s disease or certain types of dementia
  • certain lung conditions or treatments for lung conditions

The Government is still sending packs of COVID tests out to people with the above illnesses and you can find out more information including a comprehensive list at https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests

A warning that went on social media from Knowsley Council to warn of spike in CoronaVirus in Knowsley

My local council started sharing this on social media on the 22nd of September so I count myself lucky that they are doing what they can, they are asking people to

  • Avoid Social contact if sick
  • Wearing a face covering when out and about it unwell
  • Regularly washing hands

They are also asking for people to ensure they have their Booster.

Home Vaccinations

I am bedridden and classed as a bedridden patient at my local GP surgery and I was extremely fortunate to have my first Covid vaccination at home. After that my health was bad and everything went crazy for our amazing health professionals so I still have not had my 2nd or Booster vaccinations. As I am putting pressure on my Hubby to wear a mask when on public transport I will have to start chasing this up just in case. I know not all councils are the same so you will need to check with your local GP and or 111.

I understand that COVID is an extremely hot topic and a topic that rightfully leads to very emotional conversations both for vaccinations and against. All I can say is you have to do your own research and make a decision based on what you can live with
