This may sound really naive but surely Black Lives Matter applies to Black people the world over.

I hate borders and how the location that you were born dictates most lives. Why should it matter if I was born in Liverpool but may want to move to Italy or America, I don’t get why I have to go through visa applications and jump through hoops to allow me to move. Surely if I can have a better life somewhere else I should be allowed that , we all should.

Wouldn’t the money you could save for border agencies and visa specialists be better spent ensuring you know how is within your borders and that they pay tax ? Am I stupid ?

After all if I study within my country of choice to become someone with a skill that the country needs while I am in that country , the country would be collecting rent or mortgage from me , taxes, money on leisure , food, clothing etc . While all of the time I am putting down roots building friendships, paying tax , Insurances.

Take me for example , I’m 43 and desperate to move away from the UK but to do that it would cost thousands to make it happen. I’m a property owner here in the UK and have been for 20 years , I have loads of skills with many transferable skills that I have picked up over the years. Yet I am someone who needs to feel that I am home , worrying over visas for 5 years would drive me crazy.

So what about the real conversation which is That Black Lives Matter , does Donald Trump or Boris Johnson just think that phrase matter to Black People in America or in The UK ?

I watched a programme last week that talked about Makoko . Makoko is according to Wikipedia, A slum neighbourhood located on the coast of Lagos. People in Makoko live on the water in shacks , the water that they live in is being filed with waste from the town. So the community is living in the filth of others and yet nothing is being done by their government. That community within Makoko works damn hard just to eat , if they don’t work hard they don’t eat. Why are we not doing something to show them that Their Black Lives Matter ?

People all over the world have different types of skills , people are working hard all day every day yet within countries all over the world, yet we have bone idle people who will never work a day in their lives . However they still live in that country receiving the benefits of what living there has to offer.

Why won’t a country make a difference and bring in people who work damn hard and have amazing skills ? Surely sooner or later by making the lazy people a minority they will have to act. The amazing people of Makoko deserve a life like we have , they shouldn’t have to live in a slum just because that was where they were born.

Life should not be dictated by where you were born .

Black People all over the world deserve a chance to live the life that they pray for every night . The world has the chance to change if only we have the right people in power . I pray for that.
