Sorry it has been so long since I last posted , ME Awareness week absolutely wiped me out.

I still have lots of PJ posts to go up and ME Charity Awareness as well as a few video clips.

I just wanted to share with you something that I use every single day! Amazon Prime. No joke , every single day!!

Since my ME started to affect my mobility I started doing more and more things online, things like groceries. I started a challenge with my self a few years back that I wouldn step foot in a shop in December , so the internet and shopping is second nature.

This year I started cutting back and trying to save money any where I could so I started bulk buying from Costco which was great if I could get there. So I started pricing up bulk toilet rolls and found that I could save more using Amazon, which then highlighted subscribe and save to me. Subscribe and save gives you an extra saving on 5% or 15% depending on how many subscribed items you had that month.

This will make you laugh but I know get almost everything from Amazon , Dog food, Toilet rolls, toothpaste, kitchen rolls, soda stream soda, dishwashing tablets, dentastix , pet head dog shampoo, fairy fabric condition , fairy washing machine soap ( can’t think what it is supposed to be called ) , heads for toothbrushes, deodorant, simple hand wash.

Its addictive. I can get anything . I know some of you will say it costs too much , think of it this way, if you get something sent from a company you pay £3 or 4 postage . So look at the saving if you plan out what you could get from Amazon and how much it would save you. Go on have a quick look , I’m sure that just swopping a few things a month to a bulk buy would save you money including your membership cost !

Now that brings me to Christmas . We were decorating as you do a few weeks before Christmas . We had Hubbys brother coming to help . So we got the paint and brushes ready only to find we didn’t have a roller tray . I wasn’t well enough to go out so I checked on my other favourite Amazon thing , Amazon Prime. Now this service sells most things and it will give you a 2 hour delivery slot , this day Roy was coming at 1 and it was 9:30 , I managed to get that roller tray and some boxes of chocolates delivered between 10&12 . Love it !

We had another instance over Christmas when we were hanging the garlands outside but they wouldn’t stick. The sort of job a command hook would be perfect for. So Becks went off decorated the Christmas trees and by the time she had finished the hooks has been delivered.  Love love love it.

If you haven’t got it already then it is worth a look . You won’t regret it . Being unable to leave the house it is an absolute lifesaver for me. I couldn’t live without it.

People with ME/CFS have fatigue that is very different from just being tired. The fatigue of ME/CFS:

  • Was not a problem before becoming ill (not life-long)

Worsening of ME/CFS symptoms after physical or mental activity that would not have caused a problem before illness. This is known as post-exertional malaise (PEM).

Many but not all people with ME/CFS have other symptoms.

Pain is very common in people with ME/CFS. The type of pain, where it occurs, and how bad it is varies a lot. The pain people with ME/CFS feel is not caused by an injury. The most common types of pain in ME/CFS are:

  • Muscle pain and aches
  • Joint pain without swelling or redness
  • Headaches, either new or worsening

Some people with ME/CFS may also have:

  • Tender lymph nodes in the neck or armpits
  • A sore throat that happens often
  • Digestive issues, like irritable bowel syndrome
  • Chills and night sweats
  • Allergies and sensitivities to foods, odors, chemicals, light, or noise
  • Muscle weakness
  • Shortness of breath
  • Irregular heartbeat

Myalgic Encephalomyelitis does not have a cure.

Find a Dr or Consultant who listens to you is the first step

It is a manageable condition and depending on the severity of your symptoms the more difficult this can become.

I advise learning to listen to your body and what it is telling you. If you feel tired rest and if you feel pain find a solution to reduce that pain, this could be through pain medication prescribed by your Dr.

I am not saying that finding a Dr who listens or listening to your body is going to be easy as this illness is incredibly complex for some and manageable for others.

Having a Dr who listens to you or reads about the latest drug that sufferers are recommending can take a lot of unnecessary stress and anxiety from the sufferer.

Most pages list the illness as ME/CFS or Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or sometimes even Systemic exertion intolerance disease (SEID).
