What is it going to take to change this world to the one it should be .
I’m annoyed , bear with me …….
Knowsley Council are responsible for a lot of my care .
To get a crutch now you have to see an occupational therapist , for help at home you need a social worker to assess you .
I will hands up tell you I am absolutely lost and to be brutally honest I’m finding days more difficult. I know there is no cure and I absolutely do not see the point anymore .
I would love to hear someone tell me that things are going to get better . That there is a way of making this illness manageable for me . I would love someone to tell me that I could have a computer system to help me communicate or that I could study, anything that would make me feel any self worth .
I seem to be tying myself up in knots .
Why do we not have someone in this country that can say Ok your life has changed but this financial aid is available to you . Ok you can’t go out and work but you could do other things .
If you need appliances or modifications then this is who you need .
Before Christmas I had a social worker out to visit me , she wasn’t here long and if I am honest even after she left I still had no idea what she could do to help me make a difference to my life .
Since Christmas I have been ill . This lady has tried to contact me , yet no messages on my mobile or email contact . She wrote to me this week to tell me that she is closing my case .
Today I attempted to speak to her . 18 minutes it took me to get through . Of course she was unavailable so I spoke to her colleague to explain that I did not want the case closing . I’m ill . I can’t sit up let alone wait on a phone .
Her colleague explained that I would need a reassessment. So back to stage one !!!!
She would put me through , so after waiting in another queue the lady told me that the case was only closed on Monday “what’s changed in a few days?” I tried to explain that I have been ill and I never wanted the case closing . After also making a comment about my wait time she mentioned it being the same for everyone and It being budget cuts so now only 2 people answer calls for the whole borough !!!
Silly thought but wouldn’t they have less calls to answer if they didn’t close cases so bloody quickly ???
Just a thought !
I will keep you all informed on what happens next because I can not get my head around all of this Direct Payment stuff .
