I am absolutely disgusted that in 2017 people can still find something about this illness to joke about .

I ask in hope that you investigate an illness that you recently referred to in a “JOKE”
I have Severe ME which has left me completely bedridden and reliant on my Husband & 17 year old daughter to care for me.
The very same illness you referred to in your Men skit .
I do all I can to make a difference to the lives of people with ME and I honestly believe that if you look into this illness and gave it the spotlight that it deserves, you would never joke or refer to it in such a light-hearted manner.

Do you know that Drs have referred to ME symptoms to be as severe as end stage cancer. This illness has suicide as one of the leading causes of death . This illness has me at the age of 40 reliant on my daughter to wash me .
Jen Brea has recently campaigned for change by producing a movie/documentary called Unrest, the picture you used was of Jen Brea .
All over the world ME Sufferers are campaigning for more research and to be taken seriously by people like you .
Journalists still have a duty of care , what you put out is available all over the world ,You can use that platform to make a difference.
I started to blog when I found things hard to get through, I then set up a Facebook page to support others. I understand how they feel , I have been through what they are going through. More than that I understand that this illness does not just destroy my life , my Husband & Daughters lives have been destroyed too .
Our daughter rushes home from college to look after me when she should be going out with friends . My Husband works 50 hours a week , sometime going to work on 2 hours sleep if I have a bad night .
alishawhittam.com now includes email addresses to contact my Husband & Daughter , they can empathise with what other families are feeling. Understanding means so much in an illness like this .
I challenge you to understand.
I would love to help you and I know that The ME Association here in the UK would be able to offer you the most up to date statistics and figures that they have .
ME isn’t a joke. ME Sufferers are not a joke .
Give us the exposure we deserve.
