Katarina Pavelek

Today I read about someone like me choosing to end their life in assisted suicide. I’m sure that I have watched this beautiful young woman on television as she was an actress in The Mindy Project but unfortunately, her name did not spark any recollection. From now on I will find it difficult to forget her name as losing Katarina Pavelek to assisted suicide puts another loss of life due to Myalgic Encephalomyelitis and its symptoms.

I read a heartbreaking post that spoke of 14 of her friends joining together to remember Katarina by sharing a few beverages on the beach to talk about the memories and special times they shared. A poster was brought along by one of her friends to allow them to write a farewell message while others brought flowers.

I don’t want to talk about her health or if it is right or wrong to make such a decision and end your own life as no one other than Katarina knew just how bad her symptoms made her feel or what that was doing to her mental health.

I wanted to take a moment to share a little more about Katarina. Katarina Pavelek was born on the 17th of November 1981 in Slovakia, Katarina was an actress appearing in The Last Sharknado – Its about time, The Joel McHale show, The Mindy Project, Togetherness, Marry Me and while she did not have top billing in any of these roles she definitely played a huge part in the lives of her friends who chose to honour her life by coming together on the beach and sharing stories of how Katarina touched their hearts.
